Tikkebroeke

24 Jan

I fell across a photography outing while surfing my favourite camera shop: http://www.fotokonijnenberg.be and registered.  Typically Belgian style, I cruised into the shop after battling traffic for two hours, as usual (I don’t get excited about this anymore) no info anywhere, no little teeny weeny cardboard sign saying ‘photo outing’ or anything more or less cryptic.. two people hanging around in the entrance with serious photographic equipment putting mine to shame entirely!  Hey, it’s not the equipment that makes the picture, right!  Eventually I find some more people standing around and lo and behold, a list!  The idea is to use some photo equipment and then hopefully buy some, I am the poor cousin with the canon, the rest have nikon, I gave up on nikon in SA when I got no customer service whatsoever, anyway so I think that the lenses that went with on the expedition were all Nikon.  SO after a longer silence we all got onto a bus laid on by the shop to meet the ranger at Tikkebroeke reserve, so then we went for a walk, about 15 of us taking a serious amount of pictures, ah and a warm cap for free!  Lunch, free and then some more snapping, back to the shop, another sandwich, what a spread and then it was hit the road from Tikkebroeke, past Antwerp, Willebroek, Drogenbos and home, an interesting albeit grey day, January has had a fair amount of them!

Some stunning photos Olivia. Believe it or not but I actually miss that cold misty feeling sometimes – luckily we can head out to Dullstroom (2 hours away) and get some mist if necessary. When I lived there I missed the sun so much I didnt realise how lovely these grey days can also be
